NICOLA Bulley's family last night told of their anguish as police confirmed a body found in a river was the mum.
In a heartbreaking tribute they said: "We will never forget Nikki, she was the centre of our world. She made our lives special."
After weeks of agony waiting for news, it was the cruellest blow for the devastated relatives of Nicola, who vanished on January 27 after dropping her two children, aged six and nine, at school.
But her family also hit out at the raging online speculation that has surrounded her disappearance and accusations that her partner Paul Ansell, 44, was somehow involved.
In a statement read by Det Chief Supt Pauline Stables, they said: "Nikki, you are no longer a missing person, you have been found, we can let you rest now.
"We love you, always have and always will, we'll take it from here. We will never be able to comprehend what Nikki had gone through in her last moments and that will never leave us.
