Oasis are back. And the hotel prices in Edinburgh have gone..SUPERSONIC

FANS hoping to see Oasis in Scotland face paying thousands for hotels amid the biggest scramble for tickets ever seen.

Brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher confirmed yesterday at 8am that they had ended their 15-year feud to reunite for a string of concerts next year.

The first shows by Oasis since 2009 are part of a UK and Ireland tour and include gigs at Murrayfield stadium in Edinburgh on August 8 and 9.

But fans trying to book accommodation have been left grimacing at the prices demanded by hotels already well filled by the 2025 Edinburgh Festival which is on at the same time.

Hotel prices for the nights of the Wonderwall band's gigs have rocketed in the last 24 hours.

A two-bedroom flat at The Holyrood Aparthotel in Edinburgh's Old Town will cost Oasis fans £1699 on August 9.

For fans on a budget, a "cosy" room at the four-star Market Street hotel will cost £580.

The three-star Ibis Styles in St Andrew Square is offering a room for £500, or £996 for both nights. A room at the Virgin Hotels, Edinburgh, is £1091 for the Friday night, or £1806 for two nights.

The Record found the Haymarket Hotel, a mile from the city centre, charging £1838 for two nights.

One luxury two-bedroom apartment, located 3.5 miles from Murrayfield, is priced at £4800 for two nights on the weekend of the gigs.

Oasis superfan David Walker, from Glasgow, said fans would pay whatever it takes to make sure they can enjoy "the experience of a lifetime".

He added: "It is going to be expensive for fans but it is an incredibly loyal fanbase. Some people might see this as a one-off and think it is worth digging deep.
