RORY MCKENZIE reckons Kilmarnock need to apply blinkers to win the high-stakes race against relegation.

The Rugby Park ace is adamant his team have the talent and the pace to get out of trouble.

But McKenzie has made it clear Killie require tunnel vision.

Having suffered the drop with the club two seasons ago, the midfielder feels a key problem towards the conclusion of that campaign was becoming too dependent on other results.

McKenzie says taking care of business is the only way to guarantee safety and that he and his team won't waste time and energy looking across the track at their challengers.

He said: "You can't rely on other results going your way. Any time we've relied on other teams it hasn't gone our way, it just shouldn't work that way.

"Any time we slipped up, the first thing we did was check the other results. That is not the way to go about things. It was not a nice way to finish the season.
