Holidaymaker stranded abroad after breaking his back and feet

A YOUNG Scot is in hospital after plunging from a Spanish balcony while celebrating his 21st birthday.

Ross McDonald, from Kilbirnie, Ayrshire, was in Benidorm with his dad David and friends when the accident happened on September 23.

The 21-year-old broke his back and has fractures in his feet.

He is expected to have to stay in Spain for a number of weeks until he is fit to fly back to Scotland.

Ross had travelled to Benidorm the day before his horror fall.

Dad David said: "My family are very grateful for all the messages and support, but now it's just a waiting game."

A fundraiser has been set up to help Ross's family to pay for medical bills because of fears over insurance.
