Throw shade at it but all Gers have to do is recharge and glow again

THERE might have been a light bulb moment at Ibrox last night, along with so much more than just flickers of hope.

Rangers will head to Eindhoven next week with a sense of deja blue.

A year ago they had to settle for a 2-2 stalemate at home and then finished the job against the odds against a club famously founded as the works’ team of the company who invented the light bulb.

And who says lightning can’t strike twice if they can capture some of the high-voltage moments produced during this absolute thriller.

There’s no doubt PSV are a bright lot and they will be favourites to go through.

But we’re been here before and there was plenty to go on to suggest it doesn’t have to be a dark night against the Dutch in the return. They’ve now got the blueprint for the second leg – and beyond.

In the moments when Michael Beale’s men got after PSV they had the visitors looking like they’d stepped on a three-pin plug.

Todd Cantwell was the conductor and he relentlessly pressed – and whenever his pals joined in it caused havoc.

Funny enough, Abdallah Sima was getting some grief from the stands for not pressing when he produced his bolt from the blue. But the lesson should be learned. When Rangers were timid and sat off, they got in to bother.
