TROON came alive for The Open Championship yesterday, with one local saying: "The whole world is looking at us."
The Ayrshire town looked resplendent in the sushine as tourists and residents bristled with excitement ahead of golf's biggest major, which starts today.
Shops, cafes and restaurants were prepared for the influx, with some extending their opening hours to deal with the crowds.
Whisky shop The Jar created a golfing whisky for the 2024 season, with owner David Iain Grant offering passersby a friendly tipple.
He said: "We've had lots of folk from all over the world and if the weather holds, it's a great showcase for the area.
