ANAS Sarwar has accused Humza Yousaf of being “weak and desperate” over claims the general election is between the SNP and Tories.
The Scottish Labour leader said his SNP counterpart was “insulting the intelligence” of Scots by focusing on the Conservatives and the seven Parliamentary seats they currently hold.
Yousaf said the election in Scotland, which will be held some time this year, is a “straight fight” between his party and the Tories and urged members to “make history” by ensuring the country was “Tory-free”.
Polls have shown Labour neck and neck with the SNP, which would see Sarwar’s party winning at least 20 seats from the Nationalists at the election.
It also comes after Labour trounced the SNP in the Rutherglen and Hamilton West by-election in October with a 20.4 per cent swing.
