We're doing our best to tackle child poverty

THE number of people living in poverty in Scotland is too high that's why the Scottish Government is doing all it can to try to provide support, particularly to families.

This includes more than 300,000 children who are now benefiting from £25 per week Scottish Child Payment (SCP).

The whole country can be positive about the impact SCP is having. The payment described by one anti-poverty charity as a "game-changer" is part of a package of five family benefits which could be worth more than £10,000 by the time a child turns six, and over £20,000 by their 16th birthday.
