CORACH as the RAMBLER was hailed a hero buy sensationally bargain delivered again for seven friends in the Randox Grand National.
The dual Cheltenham Festival winner, who cost just £17,000, rose to the challenge in Aintree's world-famous race.
Jockey Derek Fox made it back from injury in the nick of time to steer the Lucinda Russelltrained horse to an impressive triumph.
Backed into 8-1 favourite, Corach Rambler jumped into the lead at the final fence and built up a winning advantage from Vanillier (20-1).
The runner-up, only ninth at the start of the run-in, valiantly gave chase - but could only get within two-and-quarter lengths at the line.
The result made 21-year-old Cameron Sword, one of Corach Rambler's owners, the youngest ever winner.
"He's our hero," said the Heriot-Watt University student.
"He gives us that chance to dream, what if, what could happen, what would it be like to win the National. It shows you don't need to invest millions into this sport, he cost £17,000 - he has won twice at Cheltenham and now the Grand National" By securing the first prize, Corach Rambler took his career earnings to almost £700,000.
