THE beaming King and Queen surrounded themselves with their new “Firm” as they waved to the crowds from the Palace balcony.

They were joined by the “working” royals to watch a flypast that was scaled down to include only helicopters and the Red Arrows because of the poor weather.

The Prince and Princess of Wales and their children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis joined the monarch, as did the pages of honour.

Also on the balcony were the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh – Edward and Sophie – and Princess Anne.
