IT is a case of the bigger, the better for middleweight champion Dricus du Plessis after his definitive victory over Israel Adesanya.
The South African star made a successful first defence of the 185lb title at UFC 305 in Perth, Australia, as he capped an entertaining fight by sinking in a rear-naked choke on the twotime champion in round four.
The submission victory extended Du Plessis’ record to 8-0 in the UFC and set up further super fights down the road.
First up will be a rematch with Sean Strickland, the man he took the title from by a split decision in January.
However, it is a potential showdown with former middleweight champion and current light-heavyweight king Alex Pereira that will really excite fans.
