Burn's big night all ends in tears

DAN BURN insisted Newcastle coped with the intense emotion of their Wembley final but still need more big-game experience.

The Geordie defender admitted the build-up to their first final for 24 years had been intense and stirring.

Newcastle fans took over Trafalgar Square, put on a flag-waving extravaganza, and players even read letters from their parents and kids in the build-up.

But they fell short and Burn (inset) says that finals need to become more routing as they keep rebuilding.

The local lad said: "It has been an emotional weekend. Reading letters. It has been hard to push it out and keep it away. It was nice.
