Ooh I could crush a can

COMIC Ian Smith has been to Chernobyl for a holiday.

Not recently, but in 2019. He went with his brother.

"He hadn't been abroad before," Ian explains, "and we wanted to do some kind of trip together.

"He suggested Chernobyl as a bit of a joke, but I booked it anyway.

"I thought there was bound to be some material in it. It was also surprisingly cheap..." Now, if this already sounds like a nerve-racking experience for anyone to put themselves through, add to it the fact that Ian suffers badly from anxiety. Indeed, that's the theme of the Yorkshire comedian's stand-up show Crushing, an Edinburgh hit he'll be touring from early next year.
