LYLE TAYLOR will put his feelings for AFC Wimbledon to one side when colchester travel to Plough Lane today.
Taylor, 34, is a Dons legend and made over 150 appearances during a three-year spell with the south Londoners before going on to join Charlton and then Nottingham Forest in the Premier League.
The veteran striker signed for Colchester in the summer after a "tough couple of years" and will make his bow against a club where he is still idolised.
But there will be no room for sentiment on the opening day of the season when he goes up against old friends.
Taylor said: "It's been a tough couple of years but I don't think there has been a single footballer on the face of this earth that hasn't dealt with adversity.
