THE family of a four-year-old girl mauled to death by a dog in her back garden have spoken of their heartbreak.

Little Alice Stones was killed in the horror attack on Tuesday afternoon.

A family member said: “We’re just trying to come to terms with what has happened. It’s horrendous.”

Police ordered neighbours to stay indoors before cornering the animal and shooting it dead.

Forensic teams wearing white suits were yesterday seen scouring the scene where the fatal attack took place.
