Claire Mischevani, whose creations have been worn by Princess Beatrice, Zara Tindall and Sophie Countess of Wessex, lost 62 pieces during the raid in Belgravia.
Ms Mischevani and an assistant had been loading the clothes into the back of a Range Rover after a fashion shoot in Chester Row at 8pm last Thursday when the gang struck.
They heard a car alarm going off and rushed outside to be confronted by the men who threatened them with a weapon, which was then used to smash the car’s windows.
The designer, who has also dressed Dame Helen Mirren, Carrie Johnson and Jodie Kidd and has exhibited at Paris Fashion Week, said she felt “lucky to be alive” after the “terrifying” ordeal.
