THE CBI business group faced a spiralling storm today over the sacking of its boss.
Tony Danker said his “reputation has been totally destroyed” following misconduct allegations against him which he believes were “distorted”.
He claimed he had been made a “fall guy” for a wider crisis within the Confederation of British Industry.
But CBI president Brian McBride defended the decision and said Mr Danker’s description of the grounds for his axing as director general was “selective”. He added: “The board lost its trust and confidence in his ability to lead the organisation and represent the CBI in public. If any employee of any company in the UK feels they have been unfairly dismissed they can go to an employment tribunal or they can take you to the High Court.”
