CHLOE KELLY today said the caution she was given for her iconic Euro 2022 final goal celebration was "the best yellow card I've ever received" as she returned home to a hero's welcome.
The super sub whipped off her shirt and raced around the Wembley pitch in her sports bra after scoring the winning goal in England's sensational 2-1 victory over Germany in front of 87,000 fans and a TV audience of 17 million.
Speaking on Good Morning Britain today, the Manchester City winger said: "I think that moment everything is a blur, you celebrate for what the moment is, not 'Am I allowed to take my shirt off!
"As you know, I'm taking my shirt off. I'm going crazy because men footballers have been doing exactly the same, so as a woman why can't we? You're an England fan in that moment." It earned her a caution from the referee, which she said was "the best yellow card I've ever received".
Kelly, who sealed England's first major international trophy since 1966, enjoyed an emotional return to her hometown of Hanwell last night.
Relatives and neighbours kissed and hugged the 24-year-old, who locals said has given girls "the ability to dream".
Proud parents Jane and Noel Kelly greeted her at their house on the Windmill Park estate, close to "the cage" a gravel pitch where she first kicked a ball alongside five older brothers.
