RUSSIA has lost 23 of its attack helicopters since the beginning of the invasion, according to the Ministry of Defence.
Over 25 per cent of Vladimir Putin’s Ka-52 HOKUM helicopters have either been shot down or lost with the in service fleet estimated to be 90 before the conflict began.
In its daily update, the MoD said Kyiv troops have enjoyed particular success with portable air defence systems. Today UK defence chiefs said: Russian attack helicopters have likely suffered particular attrition from Ukrainian man-portable air defence systems MANPADS), while the helicopters frequently operate with less consistent top-cover from combat jets than they would expect under Russian military doctrine.
