EVEN AS THE government is focusing ramping up installations under the newly launched PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, delays in subsidy disbursal have raised concerns. Of the two million applications received by October 2024, only 480,000 installations have been completed, according to a report by the Lok Sabha's Standing Committee.

As per the data, subsidy has been disbursed to only 280,000 households, which is 58.3% of the total installations.
