Dallewal needs immediate hospitalisation: Doctors
Hindustan Times Amritsar|December 13, 2024
CHANDIGARH: Punjab farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal, whose fast-unto-death entered the 17th day on Thursday, wrote a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying that ensuring minimum support price (MSP) to every farmer is like the fundamental right to live.

Dallewal needs immediate hospitalisation: Doctors

Dallewal has been on a fast-unto-death at the Khanauri border since November 26 to press the Centre to accept demands, including a legal guarantee to the MSP on crops.

Punjab assembly speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan urged the Union government to initiate meaningful dialogue with farmers to resolve their issues.

"Despite being a cancer patient, Dallewal has continued his fast-unto-death protest," he said.

In a video message, Dallewal appealed to people to join the agitation in large numbers.

Later, farmer leader Abhimanyu Kohar released the letter written to the PM by Dallewal, who signed it with his blood.

In the letter, Dallewal expressed disappointment that the central government has not yet implemented the 'C2 plus 50' per cent formula as the Swaminathan Commission report.
