LUCKNOW: The Uttar Pradesh legislative assembly was adjourned sine die on Thursday after giving the nod to the second supplementary budget of Rs 17,865.72 crore for 2024-25 and carrying out the listed business, including passing three bills, amid pandemonium.
Slogan-shouting was witnessed as the Opposition accused the BJP-led governments at the Centre and in Uttar Pradesh of insulting Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar.
No discussion could be held on any issue due to rising din though the house was scheduled to debate the supplementary budget (before giving nod to the appropriation bill). It was also supposed to hold a two-hour discussion on Prayagraj Maha Kumbh-2025 initiated by BJP member and former minister Siddharth Nath Singh. The house held four sittings since the winter session began on Monday (December 16).
