JAIPUR/BHOPAL: Madhya Pradesh chief minister Mohan Yadav has directed the translocation of 15 tigers from the state to Rajasthan, along with Chhattisgarh and Odisha, as part of a major wildlife conservation initiative.
An official of Madhya Pradesh government confirmed that, under the directive, 12 tigresses and three tigers will be relocated from the tiger reserves in Madhya Pradesh. These big cats will be transferred after obtaining necessary permissions from the Union government.
The tigers will be translocated from the Bandhavgarh, Pench, and Kanha tiger reserves in Madhya Pradesh to the three states, including Rajasthan, where they will be integrated into local ecosystems.
