"It's a mixed feeling. We at Vistara are excited to be a part of Air India but Vistara was our identity and will always remain our pride," a Vistara official said, capturing the bittersweet sentiment surrounding the merger.
Launched in January 2015 as a joint venture between Tata Sons and Singapore Airlines, Vistara quickly established itself as a premium carrier, notably becoming the first domestic airline to introduce Premium Economy class - a move that helped cement its position in the market vacated by the collapse of Jet Airways.
