Russia’s huge ‘kamikaze’ blitz on Ukraine civilians

RUSSIA launched a massive wave of kamikaze drone attacks on Ukrainian civilians yesterday.

Moscow stepped up its raids as it prepared for Victory Day today, marking the defeat of Nazi Germany in 1945.

Explosions were heard in Kyiv, where the mayor said five people were injured by falling debris from downed drones.

It was the fourth attack in eight days on Ukraine's capital, while blasts also hit the western city of Odesa overnight.

After a lull in civilian attacks in recent months, Russia has intensified strikes ahead of an expected Ukrainian offensive in Zaporizhzhia in the south-east.
