FORMER Irish international soccer star Anthony Stokes is set to appear in court on alleged driving offences days after he was arrested over a separate incident.
The Irish Mirror can reveal the 34-year-old is due in court in Dublin on Friday to face charges linked to an alleged dangerous driving incident in the city at the start of this month.
That emerged after he was arrested and charged over another alleged dangerous driving incident in the early hours of yesterday morning.
The former Ireland and Celtic striker was arrested in South Dublin following an incident that started on the M50 at around 3am.
Sources have told the Irish Mirror he was arrested after a Garda pursuit.
Sources said he was detained when a Volkswagen Golf failed to stop for officers on the M50.
The vehicle was later abandoned in the Cabinteely area and r Stokes was arrested nearby in a follow up search...
He was later taken to Cabinteely Garda Station for questioning before being charged.
INCIDENT
He is due to appear in the district court in Dun Laoghaire, Co Dublin over that incident next month after he makes his appearance in the city centre on the separate charges this Friday.
Gardai confirmed to the Irish Mirror that a man had been charged and arrested following an incident in south Dublin yesterday.
