HOLLYWOOD legend Bruce Willis has been diagnosed with dementia, his family revealed yesterday.

Relatives of the action hero, 67, said they hoped to shine a light on the brain condition that "needs far more awareness and research".

His family added they "knew in their hearts" he would want the world to know about his condition to offer a sense of "connectedness" to others suffering with the disease.

They added: "Bruce always believed in using his voice to help others and to raise awareness about important issues both publicly and privately." The statement was signed by the star's wife Emma and their daughters, as well as former wife Demi Moore and their children Rumer, Scout and Tallulah.
