PRESIDENT Joe Biden will pay a flying visit to the ancestral home of one half of his Irish relatives during next month's state visit.
He has promised to drop into the picturesque Co Louth village of Carlingford on his way from Belfast to Dublin after celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Good Friday Agreement on April 11.
The President made the pledge to a number of Wee County relatives he brought over to the White House to celebrate St Patrick's Day.
His great-great grandfather Owen Finnegan and son James, Biden's great grandfather, originally came from the Whitestown area outside Carlingford on the Cooley Peninsula.
