Junkets slammed amid the cost of living crisis

THE Government has been slammed after confirming that every single Cabinet minister will be jetting across the globe on St Patrick’s Day jaunts this year. 

Leo Varadkar has given the go-ahead for 36 representatives to be sent to 74 cities in 44 countries for the annual festivities.

But it comes as the opposition chastised the Government for authorising the trips in the midst of a cost of living crisis.

Ministers will travel to the US, Australia, the Middle East, Asia and other locations for the celebrations.

As expected, the Taoiseach will travel to Washington where he is expected to meet US President Joe Biden.
