THE father of murdered child Santina Cauley has slammed "hotel" like prison conditions that her killer is set to enjoy.
The two-year-old was beaten to death by Michael Cauley's then partner Karen Harrington at her apartment at Elderwood Park on the Boreenmanna Road, Cork in July 2019.
Michael said he was shocked to learn Harrington, who was sentenced to life in prison last year, may soon enjoy better conditions in the newlybuilt women's facility in Limerick.
He added: "The facilities they are going to be giving her now, it's like a hotel.
"And then she is able to get out in maybe 15 years and live a normal life when there's no life left for us.
"It's ridiculous. The jails are getting cleaner, getting better. It's like a hotel.
"She's getting an education there and all while my daughter doesn't get to grow up." Evil child killer Harrington is likely to be moved into the new €53million women's prison this summer.
She will no longer be housed in an old-style cell but in a bedroomstyle unit.
ISOLATED
However, sources said the depraved murderer still won't be allowed to mix with the general prison population, and is likely to be isolated, as she is now in the old Limerick prison.
However, the new facility is set be more focused on rehabilitation and a more therapeutic environment designed to reintegrate prisoners back into society.
