Govt officials told to fast-track preparations for visit as US leader set to arrive week early

IRISH Government officials have been told to secretly fast-track preparations for US President Joe Biden to arrive here a week earlier than originally mooted.

And the Irish Mirror understands moves are afoot to clear time in the Dail and Seanad schedules next month for a possible historic address to the joint Houses of the Oireachtas.

We revealed last week that plans are at an advanced stage for President Biden to visit Ireland for six days towards the end of next month.

But it appears that the country could be welcoming the President, known to be proud of his Irish heritage, even earlier than that.
