Semi-final nerves are Wild

WILD Youth's Conor O'Donohoe admitted he's feeling nervous ahead of tonight's Eurovision semi-finals.

But the singer is determined to make those emotions work in the band's favour in Liverpool.

He said: "There's definitely nerves. I think that's always a good thing. I always say if you have nerves it just means you really care.

"I hope we can do everyone proud. I feel we've landed in a very good place.

"We're very happy with how everything looks so it's down to us now to give the best performance.

The Dublin band recently found themselves immersed in controversy after they "cut all ties" with their choreographer Ian Banham following a row over trans rights.

Harry Potter author JK Rowling even waded into the row to criticise the group's position.

Speaking about the furore Conor told Ireland AM: "It's definitely crazy. We've kind of been travelling, doing shows for the last five weeks. We don't get to see it all.

"The only updates I really get are from my dad.

Conor also admitted being flattered by the support of chat show host Graham Norton.
