Zelensky meets British PM on visit to Chequers. He repeats his call for fighter jets to repel Russia

UKRAINE'S President Volodymyr Zelensky wrapped Rishi Sunak, and Britain, in an embrace as he pleaded again for jets to repel Russia.

The UK's latest supply of weapons to war-torn Ukraine includes hundreds of air defence missiles and new attack drones, with a range of over 124 miles.

But as Ukraine prepares to mount a counter-offensive, Mr Zelensky urged Western allies to send fighter aircraft so they could reclaim control of the skies.

His plea, made during an unannounced trip to the PM at Chequers yesterday, echoed his call in February to Parliament for "wings for freedom".
