LIVERPOOL will simply refuse to even entertain any further offers for Mo Salah, after declaring the matter "closed" following the Premier League transfer deadline passing.
With the Saudi Pro League transfer window still open for another week, government-backed club Al-Ittihad are ready to increase their initial offer for the Egypt star towards £200million, with a guaranteed £120m, and the rest in potential add-ons.
But the Reds have made it clear their superstar player is not for sale at any price, with boss Jurgen Klopp stating bluntly that the matter is behind the club, after they firmly rejected Al-Ittihad's bid.
Perhaps lost in all the hysteria about the Saudi pursuit of Salah, was the driving ambition of the player himself. This is a footballer who, let's not forget, said he was "totally devastated" by Liverpool's failure to qualify for the Champions League and that the Europa League was a failure.
"We let you and ourselves down," he told the fans.
