THE Stone Roses concert at Spike Island remains one of the most iconic of its generation, with legions of fans flocking to the man-made island in Widnes.
The event, which took place on the Whitsun bank holiday (May 27) in 1990, is widely regarded as one of the most famous gigs the UK has ever seen, landing in the middle of the Madchester era and seen by almost 30,000 fans.
