A FRIDGE TOO FAR

MANCHESTER is a hotspot for illegal dumping of white goods such as old fridges and freezers, according to government figures.

The statistics reveal that, across England, there were more than one million reported fly-tipping incidents in the year ending March 2023, including 50,091 cases of the illegal disposal of white goods.

In Manchester, there were 2,645 reported incidents, putting it just behind the London borough of Haringey (2,756).

The figures were released by the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs.
