A PASSERBY has told of the moment he rushed to help a stabbing victim following a horrifying knife attack.

A man in his 20s suffered serious injuries after being stabbed in the chest during the 'targeted' attack in Grange Road North, Hyde, on Sunday evening.

People living near to the scene said they saw a group of men armed with baseball bats and knives 'smashing a car up' moments earlier.

"I thought it was a house being raided at first," said one man, who asked not to be named. "People were yelling at each other.

"There were three lads smashing a car up and attacking the people in it. They were running round with baseball bats and knives.

The man said he and his son rushed out to help the bleeding victim and give him first aid.
