POLICE have vowed to leave 'no stone unturned' in a bid to identify those behind two nights of disorder in Manchester city centre.
The pledge comes after a shocking video captured the chaos which erupted in St Peter's Square on Monday night. The footage shows fights breaking out amongst youths with one being dragged across the ground and then police moving in rapidly to make arrests.
The trouble resulted in four police officers being assaulted as hundreds of people ran amok in Piccadilly Gardens and the city's revamped St Peter's Square on which the magnificent Central Library and Cenotaph stand, as well as a tram stop.
The first disruption RE was Friday when police attended two incidents in the city centre. At about 3pm a large group of school children congregating in the Market Street and Piccadilly Gardens area ran riot on the last day of school.
For several hours, there was chaos as cops and passersby were egged, trams were stopped and businesses closed.
