TRIBUTES have been paid to a fit and active 14-year-old schoolboy who was found dead in bed by his devastated parents.
Ibrahim Shahid was found 'unresponsive' in bed at his home in Oldham on Wednesday morning.
Tributes have been paid to the popular teen, a 'care-free soul' at Hathershaw College and a keen footballer for Chadderton FC Juniors.
Hundreds of family, school friends and well-wishers attended prayers for the youngster at his mosque, Villa Road Masjid in Oldham on Friday afternoon, and his burial at Chadderton Cemetery later the same day. A minute of applause was held before youth matches across Oldham on Sunday to celebrate his short life.
Ibrahim leaves behind his taxi driver father Shahid Ilyas, 48, mum Saima Jawaid, 44, and three siblings Ismael, 25, Saher, 24 and Elizah, 18.
His uncle Umar Jawaid, 39, an optometrist, said the family was 'living through a nightmare.'
