The masked and gloved thieves - one armed with a long screwdriver are seen casually going up and down the stairs, beside a sign that says 'home sweet home. The footage has been released to the M.E.N. by Greater Manchester Police as part of a campaign to tackle a spike in burglaries in Asian communities in the run-up to Ramadan.
The owners of the home had been on a pilgrimage to Mecca and were in the middle of a return flight when they watched the footage in shock, believing at first it was live. In fact, the raid had happened earlier and they were watching a recording which had loaded onto an app on one of their phones.
