KENNIE Carter's killers have been locked up after the 16-year-old was stabbed to death as he walked home. Kennie was fatally injured in Stretford, in a murder fuelled by revenge.

Boy A, the 16-year-old killer who knifed Kennie on January 22, 2022, was handed the youth equivalent of a life sentence and will serve at least 17 years. Three others, Latif Ferguson, 18, Boy G and Boy H, both 16, were found guilty of manslaughter and handed jail sentences.

Kennie's mum Joan said no punishment 'would ever be enough' She said she'd seen the 'person responsible' for Kennie's death 'laugh and smirk throughout' a court hearing. Joan and other family members turned their chairs to look at the defendants during the court hearing.

"This shows me he had absolutely no remorse and broke my heart even more," she said in a statement read on her behalf. "No penalty or what the court can award will ever be enough in my eyes.

"They have taken away our Kennie from his loving family and our lives are destroyed forever." Members of Kennie's family wore T-shirts in court featuring a picture of him, with the words 'RIP Kennie!

Kennie was murdered as part of a tit-for-tat feud, Manchester Crown Court heard. Boy A was seen on CCTV minutes after 're-enacting' the killing, demonstrating how he'd stabbed.

Prosecutors said that Kennie was murdered in 'revenge' following an incident the day before. Friends of Kennie were said to have been involved in an 'altercation' with others associated with the defendants, when a weapon was produced.

The following day, on January 22, 2022, the killers travelled to Stretford. A resident at a block of flats saw a large group, estimated to be of about 15 people, arrive after 5pm.
