A SMALL Manchester charity has confirmed it plans to feed more than 1,000 people in need on Christmas Day.
Applications for referrals to the Christmas appeal at Humans MCR closed on December 2, and they have since confirmed the final tally.
Hampers stacked with festive food, presents and treats will be delivered to a whopping 1,022 people across Greater Manchester, though the foodbank's founder told the M.E.N that number represents just a fraction of the need across the region.
"We could have easily done five or six times that figure," said Lewey Hellewell. "We're limited to what we can do because of space, but we know the demand is there."
