THE Smiths legend Johnny Marr had an emotional homecoming to perform in front of thousands of fans at Wythenshawe Park - just minutes from where he grew up.
The Manchester music icon was playing at the gig ahead of New Order on Saturday night.
And he paused the gig to tell fans just how much the show meant to him in the park where he spent so many days in his youth.
He made audience laugh as he shared some choice moments from back in the day, before a announcing special guest to the stage.
For he was then reunited with his fellow Wythensha we raised rock 'n' roll star - The Cult's Billy Duffy.
The duo first met in Wythenshawe back in the 1970s, before both went on to enjoy worldwide stardom with their respective bands.
