A CRUEL thug subjected his partner to a catalogue of horrific abuse.
‘Possessive’ and ‘controlling’ Ashley Dore, 40, ‘tried to exercise ownership’ of the terrified woman during the seven months they were togther, including demanding to know where she was and confiscating her phone.
He attacked her on three occasions while verbally abusing her on several others – including humilating her on a train so badly that the conductor stepped in and moved her away from him.
Dore and the woman began their relationship in the spring of 2023. However, he ‘quickly became abusive towards her’, Zoe Dawson, prosecuting, told Manchester Crown Court.
The victim went ‘from feeling they had a future together – Mr Dore appearing keen to have a family with her – to him telling her she was infertile and laughing at her’. When she later found out she was pregnant, he told her ‘she would be a single mum’, Ms Dawson said.
In one text message in May 2023, read in court, he told her: “That’s why them man hit you tbh cos your mouth.”
In another the following month, he said: “A don’t wanna be havin to f*** u up for me catching u out.” He added: “On ma grans grave ama finish youse.”
