The rest, as they say, is history.
Since its 1980 debut, the PAC-MAN video game series has been spun into everything from TV shows and Lego sets to even getting its own version on Google Maps.
But there has never been a chance to officially play PAC-MAN in real-life form until now. The revolutionary augmented reality attraction, the PACMAN Live Experience, opens in Manchester this week at The Arcade Arena, which is also home to the interactive Chaos Karts experience, near Castlefield.
Inside, players get to become 'PACPeople' as they attempt to collect power pellets and fruit and desperately try to avoid those pesky ghosts (they're named Blinky, Pinky, Inky and Clyde, by the way).
