The 55-year-old’s injuries were described by Greater Manchester Police as ‘superficial’ and ’thankfully not believed to be life threatening or life changing’.
A force spokesperson said a cordon was in place in the Little Hulton area and enquiries were continuing “to understand the circumstances”, with no further details confirmed.
A Section 60 order, meanwhile, has been sanctioned, which will remain in force until 11am today. Police said patrols have also been stepped up.
