The council's planning committee will meet tomorrow to discuss plans to demolish the former Gamecock pub on Boundary Lane in Hulme, with developers Curlew seeking permission to build a part seven, part nine-storey student accommodation block, with 146 bedrooms.
The Gamecock saga is one of Manchester's longest-running, with plans originally unveiled in May 2021. It was refused planning permission at a committee meeting in May 2022, with a revised proposal also refused in October of that year. Last July it was again rejected, with more revisions seeing the scheme return to the planning committee in November only for it to be rejected again.
