The Greater Manchester Mayor spoke to Mike Sweeney on BBC Radio Manchester yesterday morning following the announcement that the HS2 link to Manchester would be scrapped.
Mr Burnham said that while in the city, the Prime Minister 'didn't speak to anybody' or 'consult' any Northern leaders about the plans. He added that the Tories 'pretty much stuck two fingers up to the North this week'.
Speaking on the In The Hotseat show, Mr Burnham said: "I'm sort of stunned this morning about what I've experienced this week, this party came to our city, they holed themselves up in the hotel, didn't speak to anybody and then just kind of threw out this plan that no-one was consulted about."
He added: "For them not to speak to anybody, I think is disrespectful to the city. When they were in our city, they should have shown more respect for people here."
