'Then I realised the car was actually in the house'

HOMEOWNER SHAKEN AFTER HATCHBACK PLOUGHS INTO HIS HOME LEAVING A GAPING HOLE IN THE WALL

A MAN was left 'shaken' after a car ploughed through into his lounge leaving a gaping hole in the wall.

The vehicle struck the property, at the junction of Old Chapel Street and St Matthew's Road in Edgeley on Saturday night.

The homeowner, who asked to remain anonymous, has lived in the house for seven years with his partner and now two young children.

He was in the garden at the time of the collision, at about 9pm, when he heard a 'huge crash' and his partner 'screaming' from the upstairs bedroom.

He said the crash involved two cars, one of which then ploughed head on into the front of his property and leaving a gaping hole in the wall.

"My partner was in the front bedroom above where the car hit," he said. "I was in the back garden. I heard this huge crash and my partner screaming.

"I came out and saw the second vehicle outside my front door.
