Adam Lowe, 38, set upon his partner after the pair argued over a selfie she had taken with a man in a pub.
He struck multiple punches to her back and chest in front of her 11-yearold daughter, before leaving and later returning in a rage.
He then proceeded to batter her with a mobile phone until it broke on her head as she lay in bed with their 18 month-old child. Bleeding heavily, she managed to escape into the street in just her dressing gown and socks screaming for help before taking refuge at the home of her grandmother, Bolton Crown Court heard.
She later told how plastics factory worker Lowe, of Wildman Lane, Bolton, had attacked her on previous occasions in crazed fits of jealousy but she refused to report him to police as she feared social services would take away their children aged four and 18 months, plus her 11-yearold daughter from a previous relationship.
